Hyde Park’s 53^rd Street is in Danger

We are Hyde Parkers who support responsible, thoughtful development in Hyde Park. We believe in urban planning and in community input and are concerned that development on 53^rd Street is proceeding without regard for either.

In the long term, we call for a zoning plan for 53^rd St.  In the short term, we believe the rezoning of the McMobil parcel to allow a 13-story high-rise is inappropriate and illegal, and we support the lawsuit brought by community residents against that zoning change.
